There has been much talk about the new Star Trek movie, which takes place before any of the original series and explains how the crew of the Enterprise started what they are best known for. However, unlike previous Star Trek movies, almost no previous knowledge is needed to enjoy the experience. The special effects, landscapes, and ships were great. The plot was convincing, and nicely tied up at least most of the loose ends made by the series, such as how Kirk cheated out of the "No-Win" situation scenario mentioned in Star Trek 2, and did a good job of explaining how the crew of the Enterprise as it is remembered came to be. Overall, this is a great movie, and I would see it again without a second thought.

Awesome movie, a complete reboot of the original, with a new alternate timeline to appease even the most hardcore of Trekkies. Not too caught up in techo-babble or anything like that.
