According to Connecticut police, a man, Daniel Vagnini, allegedly punched himself in the face, tore at his shirt, and threw both his wallet and keys into a river, all in an attempt to convince police he had been assaulted.
Also according to the police, the man admitted he made the story up, after he had sped through a stop sign, and nearly crashing his car. He has been charged with reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
