"Larry King Live" Is Over
"Welcome to the last 'Larry King Live'. It's hard to say that." Those were the first words Larry King said on his show on Thursday, when he announced that he would be ending his talk show after 25 years. King had set records as America's interviewer-in-chief and CNN's prime-time talk show host. The last show featured a song by Tony Bennett, a greeting from President Obama, and a word from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who proclaimed a "Larry King Day" in King's honor. TV host Ryan Seacrest and comedian Bill Maher also joined King on set. After those guests, the show ended its 25-year run. At the end, King choked up a little with his final words. He thanked his staff after stating "It's not very often in my life that I've been without words."

Wikileaks creates awkward situations
Some countries are now limiting the amount of United States diplomats allowed to attend their meetings. Some leaders are also worried about expressing their true feelings, fearing they will be quoted and leaked to the internet.
Hamid Karzai, president of Afghanistan, was refered to as "weak" and "overly self-conscious" in certain documents. This makes work between him and and the United States diplomat, Karl Eikenberry, even more difficult. The same goes for German chancellor, Angela Merkel, was called, "rarely creative" by U.S. ambassador to Berlin, Philip Murphy.

Australian FM Blames U.S. for the Wikileaks Scandal
On Wednesday, the MasterCard website suffered a cyber-attack related to the current WikiLeaks scandal. Many news sources state that supporters of WikiLeaks were to blame for the attack, including one Twitter account which claimed responsibility. Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd, however, states that the U.S. is responsible for leaking the documents in the first place. He told Reuters that the leaks raised questions about the quality of U.S. security over information. Rudd stated, "I have been pretty consistent about where the core responsibility lies in this entire matter, and that lies in the release of an unauthorized nature of this material by U.S. personnel."

TV Series Review: AMC's "The Walking Dead"
Last Sunday, AMC aired the last episode of season one of their new hit show "The Walking Dead". Based off the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, the show follows a group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse. From entering infested cities to establishing camps, the show follows the group through all of the emotions, heartbreak, and tension of trying to survive in a ruined world. With fantastic make-up and special effects, AMC's zombie apocalypse feels real as it gets, and it lends a whole new take on the classic zombie movie.
For those who may think that "The Walking Dead" is just another gratuitous mess of brains and guts, think again; the show takes a fresh take on the apocalypse, focusing more on the hard emotions, situations, and tensions within the group of survivors than ever before. There are realistic issues occurring within the humans themselves, which is exactly what would happen with a group of people from mixed origins relying on each other to stay alive. When zombies are killed, it is sometimes rewarding but sometimes very emotional, seeing that it is still the embodiment of a person. The epitome of this is when main character Rick Grimes travels back a mile to mercy-kill a zombie with no legs. This is a side of the story never truly seen in zombie movies.
In terms of filmmaking and acting, "The Walking Dead" is far above average compared to other shows, and very close to the production quality of a motion picture. This may be attributed to show director by Frank Darabont, who directed Shawshank Redemption. The blood in the show feels very real, as well as the acting performances, which together create a gripping zombie-infested world. Every episode got better and better until the season let off, and the 8 million fans that watched the show are anxiously awaiting season two.

Panda costumes for a greater good
Past attempts of releasing pandas into the wild have not been subject to profound success. For example, in 2006, a panda named Xiang Xiang was released into the wild only to be found dead 10 months later. The body seemed to be killed by other wild pandas, conversationalists blame this on the fact that the animal experienced human contact-which is why this strategy with the costumes is being used.
The number of pandas in the wild is fewer than 2,500, and their environment has decreased by 50% in the last twenty years. Breeding and re-introduction like this is essential to the specie's survival.

Facebook gets a brand-new look
Facebook users are facing yet another change to the ever-updating website they devote so much time to. The social website has rearranged the layout of the users' profiles.
This new look is made to be more visually-driven. The top of one's profile is lined with pictures they were tagged in. Along the left side of one's profile, contrary to the top where they once resided, are tabs for accessing the person's notes, info, etc. Lower down on the left side are links to the person's family members and friends indicated with their name and profile picture.
According to MSNBC.com, the point of the new profile design was to make facebook more visually-driven.
"You can see all the things that you have in common with that person," Zuckerberg said. "And it's just like, it gives you this amazing connection with that person in a way that the current version of the profile that we have today just doesn't do."
Despite Zeckerberg's high hopes for the new profile design, most users dislike the more complicated design. Yet some people are more moderate with their opinions. RHAM Junior, Mike Slusarczyk said, "Well I can't say I'm all for it yet, but really that's how everybody always feels when Facebook changes itself. People complain about it for a few days, then just accept it. I'm sure that people won't even notice after 2 weeks of using it."

Movie Review: "Unstoppable"
In mid-November, director Tony Scott’s new film “Unstoppable” arose in almost all of the country’s mainstream movie theaters. Starring Chris Pine, Denzel Washington, and Rosario Dawson, the new movie has a very popular cast. A lot of people probably saw the trailer for this train-based action flick and thought, wait, isn’t that just like “The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3”? The answer is yes; “Unstoppable” and “The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3” are both directed by Tony Scott, both star Denzel Washington, and are both about a high-tension scenario taking place with a train. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t see it, however. “Unstoppable” may be a bit far-fetched and clichéd, but its unusual plot and exciting pace make it a thrilling film worth watching.
“Unstoppable” begins when a train conductor named Dewey hops out of his train as it is slowly taking off from the train station. He accidently makes the mistake of setting the train on a full-throttle cruise control, and before he can get back in, it takes off without him. There are also a few other inconveniences; the independent brakes of the train are disconnected from the start and many of the cars are containing toxic, highly explosive material that could decimate an entire town. Let the fun begin. Soon enough, the train hits 70mph through heavily populated towns, and it is up to Chris Pine and Denzel Washington to try to stop it.
The great thing about “Unstoppable” is that the action heats up quickly. Within ten minutes the train is out of control, and from then on the movie is fast-paced and exciting. To complement this, Tony Scott uses quick editing and elaborate angles as the runaway train roars through fields and large towns. Nearly every shot shown has motion in it, making the sequences quicker and more interesting. The fact that the film keeps viewers on the edge of their seats helps them ignore the improbability of some of the events happening and a few clichés.
All three of the main actors in the film play their roles well. Seasoned actors Denzel Washington and Rosario Dawson played their parts with sincerity and realistic emotion. Chris Pine, a name more recently recognized among fans after “Star Trek”, also played his part well. Each of the characters cast in “Unstoppable” seemed very fitting for their parts.
Overall, “Unstoppable” has an exaggerated plot and some clichés, but it is thrilling and exciting enough to overshadow those weaknesses. It is a lot of fun to watch and the audience is glued to the film until the credits start rolling.Japan Makes Unprecedented Bid For the World Cup: A 3D Broadcast
Recently Japan announced plans for their bid for the FIFA World Cup in the year of 2012; not only do they have multiple suitable soccer stadiums left over from their 2002 co-hosting of the cup, but the nation has announced plans to bring the cup to a new era of technological advancement. In an effort to combine Japan's desire of hosting the tournament along with their innovative new technologies, the Japanese government has announced a potential $6 billion plan to broadcast the Cup in 3D. This isn't the average adventure with 3D glasses, however; the country plans to broadcast 3D images of games up through the ground of a massive, flatbed screen. This would be a groundbreaking achievement and change the way soccer is viewed for perhaps the rest of its existence.
Japan plans to stream the ultra-realistic feed to 400 different locations worldwide to bring people into the World Cup like never before. This unprecedented move towards technology of their broadcast gives them hope that they will be the chosen venue for 2012, which with so much fan fare and attention to Japan would boost their economy and national prowess.

British Aid Worker Killed by U.S. Grenade
British aid worker Linda Norgrove, age 36, was killed by an explosion on October 8. Norgrove worked for DAI, an agency dedicated to helping developing nations. She died during a failed rescue attempt after being kidnapped in a remote region of Afghanistan in late September. At first, reports indicated that a terrorist suicide vest had detonated, killing her, but U.S. officials ordered a full investigation to ensure what happened. British Foreign Secretary William Hague confirmed on Thursday that the real cause of death was by a grenade thrown by U.S. troops. The soldiers failed to admit that they had thrown a grenade and have been disciplined for the failure under military law. Over 1000 American and Afghan troops were dedicated to the rescue of Norgrove. Hague called her death "a terrible tragedy."

Broadway Review: The Pee Wee Herman Show
Paul Reubens, the goofy actor behind the HBO series Pee Wee's Playhouse, has recently attempted to make a come-pack of his prized character. This time, however, he took the playhouse to Broadway. What resulted was a classic, zany, and up-to-date play as the playhouse came to life, and it should surely be seen by any Pee-Wee fan.
With Paul Reubens and other original show actors like Lynne Marie Stewart (Ms. Yvonne) and John Moody (Mailman Mike), the show feels just like the original series did. All of the original playhouse characters show up, including favorites like Cowboy Curtis, Chairry, and The King of Cartoons. The playhouse is identical to the original series as well.
The humor in the show is sharp and modern. There are original jokes and dances mixed in with modern topics (ex. making fun of Sham Wow). Also, everything is appropriate for children; although there are very obvious adult double-entendres, they will go right over the heads of anyone under the age of 11 or 12. This makes the show a fun event for everyone in attendance.
Overall, the Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway is a fun time for adults and children. It will be especially rewarding for fans of the old show, where all old characters play a key role in the production.
RATING: 4/5
REASON: It is a very funny and rewarding production for children or those who have seen the Pee-Wee Herman show. However, do not expect any serious emotions or an innovative storyline that characterize common broadway plays.

Tamar Kaprelian "Sinner or a saint" review
b. un-original
c. bad
I must admit, upon getting a CD of "Sinner or a Saint" I had my doubts. But when I started listening I was pleasantly surprised.
The CD opens with the song, "New Day." The song is uplifting yet sprinkled with a pseudo-depressing mood. It was written during a dark time in her musical career. This song lays out the foundation of the rest of the album, painting a picture of a girl who's been forced to ride the roller coaster we call life.
The second song on the album, Sinner or a saint, is probably my favorite. It opens with a catchy punk-esque guitar riff that is soon welcomed by the full band. Tamar's voice harmonizes beautifully with the instruments. I couldn't resist bobbing my head to the song as I wrote this review.
In the end, this is a very enjoyable album. Tamar Kaperlian demonstrates lots of potential for the future. I look forward to seeing what else she can bring to the music world. Her voice, her lyrics, and the way the instruments compliment her and each other make this an everyone should give a chance.

For the first time in a nine-year-long war, the U.S. is sending tanks to Afghanistan. Spokesman Major Gabrielle Chapin for the U.S. Marine Corps said that M1A1 Abrams tanks will be sent overseas. The military has said that it will allow for more aggressive missions. At the same time, it will decrease the risk to infantry. The tanks are scheduled to arrive in Afghanistan by early spring. Music Review: Boy Band "Mindless Behavior" Sounds Like Mediocrity
Auto-tune, electronic effects, and pulsing beats have been sweeping through modern day hip-hop music. Songs with clean, sometimes distorted vocals to a catchy beat are the hottest thing in music. So what happens when a group of four talented 12 and 13 year-old singers step into this uprising genre and try to make super-group history? Unfortunately, the answer is mediocrity.

Sugarland "The Incredible Machine" Music Review
This eleven track album was an great collection of modern country music. This was a great album that had a mix of slower and fast-paced tunes. I even liked the modern and pop influenced track and I found the message in some of the songs to be a positive influence. Overall I liked it and I would give it a 4 out of 5. This wouldn't be an album that I would go out of my way to buy it but if it were on my iPod I would enjoy listening to it. Red Dead Redemption DLC Review: Undead Nighmare
I didn't know what to expect coming into the game, after playing the original story of Red Dead, I had my theories to what the game was actually going to be. I paid the $9.99 , the rate for 800 Microsoft points and waited , meanwhile watching trailers for the game. I was immediately launched into the story, watching John Marston kill his uncle and hogtie his wife and son, who I had learned to love in the last game, was a genius start to the story, and believe it or not, the writers at Rockstar Games somehow incorporated some humor into the biting and graphic scene. I now rode my noble steed into the unknown, encountering hoardes of zombies, and cleansing graveyards. I couln't help but think, this game is awesome.
Overall, the way you play the game is the same as the original story in Red Dea , fans will enjoy recalling familiar scenery, and talking to familiar faces like Nigel West Dickens and the grave digging maniac Seth Briars. The graphics are improved, there's more blood and more gore. The story is delightfully cliche, cheesy and full of Marstons wit and profanity. Ten dollars is a low price if you enjoy slaughtering crowds of zombies salivating for human flesh or you just want to enjoy and interact with a decently written horror story. I give this DLC a 5/5.

Video Game Review- Fable III
The story revolves around you, a prince (or princess, depending on gender) whose brother is the king of Albion. As the citizens continue to complain about his tyrannical rule, you go out to lead a rebellion and take the crown. It's a good story. It feels traditional and yet new to the series. The story isn't stuck to just the main storyline, but also extends to the sidequests that citizens of Albion give you. The sidequests allow you to build up your character as good or evil, which will in turn define the kind of ruler you will be.
This game looks really good. It has a strange look that looks like a mix between realistic and cartoony, but fans will like it, as that's been the design of the last few games. The environments are fun to look at and character models look different from one another. Sound is also a good factor. Music is familiar to the rest of the series and is very nice to listen to. The character voices are probably the best part. Along with celebrity voices, the voices all fit the characters.
The gameplay is where this game really shines. As I said, sidequests allow you to build up your character as good or evil, but it goes much deeper than that. Like in the previous games, you can interact with villagers through a series of scripted interactions that affect your standing with people. You can also make moral decisions that can be something like freeing people being sold into slavery or taking some money to look away. The only real complaint with this game is that the interaction system has been oversimplified and you don't have as many options for it as before. However, besides that, this game is incredible. It's one of the best games of 2010 for sure.

Google Stock Comes Back up to $600
On Friday, October 15th, Google stock rose back up to $600 for the first time in nine months. Google has reported a 32% increase in profits now that is it using stronger search ad fees from advertisers.
Many investors thought that Google would not make money outside of advertisements, but they have been proved wrong. Google's Android smart phone has risen to the second most popular smart phone on the market. The phone will be responsible for 17.7% of the cellular phone market by the end of the year.
Google says it does about $1 billion in sales of advertisements per year, and it may go up due to new features like Google's new "instant search". Its stock looks like it will stay on the upswing, although it is still not close to its all-time high in stock of $747.24.

Alex Sanclamente
Sanclamente was born in Columbia, where he is known as a proffesional chess player. Sanclamente described the condition of Columbia to be very impoverished, and he could see no way out of those conditions himself and for his family. Sanclemente, seeking better fortunes, eventually decided that the Untied Sates held better opportunities for his newly started family and chose to move, leaving his reputation as a chess player behind. Once in the United States sanclamente began working as a janitor at an office building, where hard work and pure luck lead him to be noticed by the vice president of the company. Speaking little english, Sanclamente showed the VP his intelligence in the only way he could, by playing chess. The VP, seeing sanclamente's intellectual potential, sent him Central Connecticut State University where he received outstanding marks in every class that he took. Sanclamente's GPA upon graduating was so high that he was interviewed in-front of over 10,000 people on how he received such amazing marks. Sanclamente attributed his high marks to extremely hard work, and a strong desire to learn more. Sanclamente would wake up at four thirty a.m. to do school work, go to class, and the go to work, not coming home until after midnight on many occasions.
After getting his bachelors degree at CCSU Sanclamente worked as a mailman, where he slowly began to build a relationship with the people in the town of Marlborough. During his time as a mail man sanclamente worked towards his goal of opening a computer repair shop. After saving enough money and gaining the trust of the people in the town, he started his business with his wife. Sanclamente said "If I had started my business before I had worked as a mailman, then noone would trust me. I have an accent, I am foreign, but now the people will recognize me and trust me to fix their computers." Sanclamente's truly inspiring story is testament to how hard work and a little ingenuity can pay off.

Film Editor of Tarantino Dies at 56
The film editor of famed director Quentin Tarantino, Sally Menke, was found dead on Tuesday morning, October 12th. After going out hiking with her dog on Monday in Bronson Canyon, there was no sign of her return. Friends alerted the police and hours of searching began. Her body was later found at the bottom of a ravine, her dog still alive. It is not known whether the extreme heat of the day was a factor of her death or not, and there did not appear to be a jump in deaths on Monday. Expert opinions say that Menke most likely became disoriented and collapsed, the heat contributing to her death. Menke worked on films such as "Pulp Fiction", "Kill Bill", and "Jackie Brown".
"It's Kind of a Funny Story" Movie Preview
On October 8th, the film "It's Kind of a Funny Story" was released into theaters nation-wide. RHAM News was sent an exclusive electronic press kit to the film that includes trailers, film clips, soundbites, and b-roll.
From the materials sent, "It's Kind of a Funny Story" seems like a decent film. It is not Oscar material, yet it has its strengths. Starring Keir Gilchrist, Zach Galifianakis, and Emma Roberts, it is a story about a clinically depressed teenager (Gilchrist) checking himself into an adult psychiatric ward to get a new start. Along the way there are many laughs, life lessons, and romance. After watching many film clips, the acting in the film seems to be on-and-off. Galifianakis and Roberts seem strong as usual, however the less known Gilchrist comes off a little weak and unbelievable. He does a fine job acting his part, however the performance does not drag the viewer in. Besides the acting, all of the scenes feel a little drawn-out and slow on tempo; it seems like what is trying to be a witty psychiatric comedy is too sluggish in moving along.
As for the technical aspects, "It's Kind of a Funny Story" is shot very much like an independent film. The cinematography has the indie look to it, using very shallow depth of field and more artistic angles. Like many independents out today, there is a low-budget, raw feel to the film. This can be further seen when watching the b-roll, where there is a very minimal crew (2 film camera operators, two sound recordists, 2 camera assistants) along side directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson, Sugar). Overall, the technical side of the movie seems solid.
As a whole, It's Kind of a Funny Story seems like it will be an enjoyable watch with a unique storyline and fun moments. The acting and pacing may keep it from having Oscar potential, but it will most likely still hold up in the box office with interest from adult viewers.

Neon Trees "Habits" Album review
Their style is unique, it brings multiple genres together in an energetic blend of noise. They describe their music "wouldn't sound out of place at any point from '60s garage-rock to 2010 dance rock." It's an accurate description, their music has a type of psychedelic atmosphere that bears resemblance to acid rock bands of the '60s and '70s. It is reminiscent in itsreferences to late '70s disco with easy beats to dance to. The lyrics cry with angst I know so well from early '90s grunge, and the electric sound seems to mark them as one of the bands fueling the increasing popularity of modern dance.
I personally was very impressed with the band's bassist, Branden Campbell. He used the instrument to a degree more than most other players do. For example, the song, "Girls and Boys in School" is strengthened by a heavey-treble bassline that makes a good song a great song
One minor weakness I find in their music is the consistency in their songs. Though they vary in their meanings and themes, they all seem to be presented with the same sound. That's not to say all their songs sound the same, but rather, they all have a consistent feel to them. They're all energetic, some more than others. Yet, they use energy well, they're good at what they do. It definitely won't make you dislike the band, but don't expect a emotional roller coaster.
All in all, the album is a success, an energetic venting of teenage woes with an ultimately pleasant outcome.

Video Game Reviews- Dead Rising 2
Taking place five years after the events of the first game, Dead Rising 2 follows Chuck Greene, a former motocross champ who is now surviving in Fortune City. The story is nicely put together, and is surprisingly deep for a zombie game. Once you get past the fun of killing endless amounts of zombies, you'll find a surprisingly interesting story that combines horror and comedy...
...If you can get past the fun of killing endless amounts of zombies. As the first game was, this is a sandbox game, which means you can just go through the entire thing mindlessly finding new ways to kill the walking dead. It's incredibly addicting. The setting of this game, Fortune City is huge. There is a lot of ground to cover, and many things that can be turned into weapons. In fact, that's one of the biggest draws of this game; Using the godly power of duct tape, you can combine objects found all over the place and turn them into destructive weapons. This new creativity brings multiple hours of variety as you discover new weapons with which to kill zombies. It will be a very long time before you get bored.
Unfortunately, there may not be a long time before you start to get annoyed. There are some problems that just keep this game from being perfect. The main one is with save points. You have a time limit to complete the story, and if that limit runs out, you will fail the campaign and be booted back to your last save point. If you save too close the deadline and still have a lot to do, you may have to start the whole game over again.

Facebook Plans to Change Friend Requests
On Facebook, when users receive a friend request, they can either choose to "accept request" or hit "ignore", which erases the request forever. In the next few days, Facebook plans to eliminate the "ignore" button and replace it with a "not now" button, which will put the request in a "hidden requests" folder. This makes it so that one can look back at all requests denied, and accept them at any point in the future if they wish. You can also mark the request to show that you do not know the person requesting, which helps facebook prevent abuse.
