Haunted Mansion - Mafia Hideaway

In State Island, New York, an old mansion is said to be the perfect backdrop for a ghost tale. There has said to have been strange happenings, eerie cries and noises late at night from the people who died there long ago. However, these stories only only scary myths whereas one tale lies true and is the most haunting of them all. Two years ago, investigators uncovered the secret about the mansion. They discovered the Kreischer mansion was a place for the mafia to reside and slay. Caretaker Joseph Young was pressed charges for allegedly luring Robert McKelvey to the grounds in 2005. Young then proceeded to stab, strangle and drown McKelvey and then sawed the body and threw it in the furnace.

Many officials still believe that there is a mystery which lies in this mansion even though no recent oddities have occurred there. The FBI returned to the location this past summer to search for any additional bodies though there were none found. There are many strange tales told. Scratching noises near closets are heard, a cook who committed suicide in the kitchen lurks the halls and screams are always there. The real story to this mansion is less creepy. A man and his two sons once lived there and the dad worked as a bricklayer in a factory. One day he shot himself in the head because of troubles with employees. Over the years, the mansion became a restaurant but then fell into disrepair until Isaac Yomtovian purchased it. Yomtovian's plan was to use the mansion as a sort of clubhouse or housing center for seniors but was unable to secure funding. Despite people telling Isaac of the eerie tales about the mansion, he still remained insistent in the desire to keep the mansion and restore it. "In my opinion, it's a beautiful place to have a home" he says.

The home is empty as of now, but as Halloween approaches, many come to the streets to see the outside to try and catch something a little beyond normal.
