According to courant.com, Vernon Police are calling upon the public to assist them in identifying a man who is a suspect in stealing 79 year-old woman's purse. The theft of the woman's purse happened while she was at a grocery store. Without realizing she forgot her purse in a shopping cart, she drove away, but then came back within two minutes, according to police. The purse disappeared, and on video a white man appeared to be taking the purse. The Vernon Police wish that the public can help recognize the man. Anyone with information about the man are asked to call Officer Dan Champagne at 860-872-9126, ext. 281.
