In Connecticut there are over one thousand people that need a kidney. Fred Brown went to Hartford Hospital on December First to help one of these people get the new kidney that they need to stay alive. 43 year old Brown says, "I wanted to help save somebody’s life." Brown is one of only 15 altruistic donors since this program began. An altruistic donor is when the donor does not know where or who their organ will go to. Although he will not know who his recipient will be he does plan on finding them after the procedure.
