Teen Rescued From Housatonic After Canoe Accident
According to courant.com, on Sunday in Cornwall, Connecticut a 17-year-old female was rescued by the Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department. The teen was canoeing in the Housatonic River when she was thrown from the boat, according to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The teen was brought to a nearby hospital by helicopter with non-life threatening head injuries. According to DEP spokesman Dwayne Gardner, the female was conscious and alert. A part of Route 7 was closed during the rescue, state police said.
