Campus Stabbing: Uconn Football Player Killed

On Oct. 20, at around eleven a.m it was reported that Jasper Howard, a starting cornerback for the UConn Huskies football team was killed. It was an on-campus stabbing and according to several sources, the murder took place near the student union. Police say the crime occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m Sunday. Two people were stabbed and rushed to the Windham Community Memorial Hospital. Investigators are saying that the killing happened after a school sponsored dance at the union had ended. Someone had pulled the fire alarm at 12:26 a.m causing two groups to get into an argument ending with two people being stabbed.

Howard did not have the easiest time growing up in his home town of Miami. His mother took on many jobs to maintain a substantial household and take care his sisters. His dream one day, as he told family members was to become a professional football player in order to have enough money to support his mother and sisters. The suspect has not yet been identified according to an emergency alert posted on the University Website Sunday morning.
