Driver Dies In Tolland Crash, Passenger Taken To Hospital

According to courant.com, an Oxford man is dead after an overnight crash in Tolland. Ryan Vernooy, 23, lost control of his vehicle while driving westbound on Tolland Bridge Road near the intersection of Doyle Road. Police said that Vernooy lost control of his vehicle because he was attempting to make a turn and he then drove off the road and crashed into two trees and a rock ledge. Vernooy was announced dead at the scene. The passenger in the vehicle, Meredith Bagley, 24, of Oxford was brought to Hartford Hospital by Lifestar with minor injuries. According to police, the accident is still under investigation.
