House Aproves Tax Cut Package

After a 277-148 vote, late Thursday night, the tax cut package was passed and it will now head to President Obama to be signed into law. The package includes a two year extension to the Bush-era tax cuts as well as extending the unemployment benefits for another 13 months. This vote fallows a week long debate in the house. This package is a great relief to some because many people were worried that after the midterm elections it would take a while for the house to approve anything. But since the package was approved it shows that the house can negotiate and approve bills.
